What You Need to Know About Crystal Mountain’s Cottages

We had the pleasure of spending a few weeks at Crystal Mountain Resort in Michigan recently. My boys had a great time skiing and we all enjoyed the resort amenities!

There were several options for places to stay at the resort and we were lucky enough to pick the cottages! It was a fantastic choice! The cottages were beautiful. As a bonus, they were located very close to the main area of the resort. We were walking distance from dining, shopping, and fitness options, as well as to the slopes!

Here is our review of the cottages at the Crystal Mountain Resort!

Welcome to Your Cottage!

There were several different cottages available and all were similar. Some had three bedrooms and some had two bedrooms and all were located around the lake on the resort property.

All of the cottages were within walking distance from the slopes and all the other amenities on the property. Our cottage was the furthest away and we could walk anywhere in five minutes. It was great!

BONUS: The resort workers shoveled our sidewalk and front porch twice a day when it snowed! I was shocked because it was a ski resort and I figured they would not do that because everyone had clothes and shoes fit for the snow. I was very impressed to say the least!

Main Living Area

Each of the cottages has a kitchen area with full-size appliances and pretty much anything you would need for quick breakfasts or full meals. They had plates, bowls, and utensils, as well as a drink pitcher, baking dishes, skillets, coffee maker, ice maker, and more!

Everything was very neat and clean and well-organized. We did breakfast in our room each day. I brought our crockpot with us (we drove) to do supper one night. Assuming we go back again, I would definitely do more than one meal in the room. It was nice and cozy and it was great that it was located so close to the slopes!

The kitchen area leads into the living room area. There is a sleep sofa, a couple of plush chairs, and a window seat, along with the fireplace or stove and television. There were also several wooden chairs around the cottage that we used for kitchen chairs and to dry clothes in front of our furnace.

It was a very beautiful place to stay and getting snow on our second and third days there made it even more charming! I spent most of my time in the window seat! I don’t ski, so I spent my days working from the cottage while the boys skied and snowboarded.

It was nice that the cottage was located so close to the ski areas that the boys could come back to snack or warm-up whenever they needed it!

Master Bedroom

As I said earlier, our cottage had two bedrooms. The master bedroom had a king-size bed, dresser, closet, television, and attached full-size bathroom.

In the bathroom, there were drawers on each side, one for me and one for my husband and one shared sink.

The master bedroom had a walk-in shower with two shower heads, one on each side of the shower.

2nd Bedroom

Now on to the second bedroom!

The second bedroom had two queen beds, a large closet, and there is a television located inside the cabinet you can see in the picture below. The second bedroom also had its own attached full-size bathroom. It was plenty big for the three teen boys with us on the trip!

There is larger counter space in the second bedroom and a bathtub with a shower.

The boys were impressed the bathtub in the second bedroom had jets! It was nice that they had the option to take a bath or shower!

Other Perks

In addition to the bedrooms and living room area, there was a screened-in back porch. It was a nice area to sit and enjoy the view. However, once it snowed, the screened-in porch also had snow in it!

The cottages also include a washer and dryer unit. This was super important to me because I wanted to be able to wash and dry clothes as needed. Additionally, I was able to wash all of our clothes while we were there, so I didn’t have to do laundry when we got home. This is definitely a bonus for me!

Crystal Mountain was definitely a fun, family-friendly ski resort located in the midwest. We had never done a ski vacation before and this was the perfect spot for us! They had slopes for every skill level and everything was located very close to where we were staying. I would definitely enjoy returning in the future! My husband had never skied before and found a new hobby that he thoroughly enjoys!
