If you are looking for an amazing character breakfast on your next Walt Disney World vacation check out Chef Mickey’s in Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
What is Chef Mickey’s?
Chef Mickey’s is an amazing character dining experience at Walt Disney World. Food is served buffet-style, so you can get as much or as little as you would like!
One of the bonuses of Chef Mickey’s over some of the other character dining experiences is that you do not need a park ticket to eat there! Since the restaurant is in one of the resort hotels, not park ticket is needed!
This makes Chef Mickey’s a great option for rest days or if you are looking for a little Disney to add to your Orlando vacation!
Where is Chef Mickey’s?
Chef Mickey’s is in Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
From the Parks:
If you are at EPCOT, you can take a bus or monorail to the Contemporary Resort. Keep in mind, if you take the monorail, you will need to transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Resort Monorail.
If you are at Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, then just take the bus directly to the Contemporary Resort.
If you are at Magic Kingdom, take the Resort Monorail, boat ride, or walk to the Contemporary!
From Disney Springs:
If you are leaving Disney Springs, take the bus directly to the Contemporary Resort!
From Any Disney Resort:
If you are at any Disney Resort hotel, the easiest way to Disney’s Contemporary Resort would be to take the Disney bus to Magic Kingdom. Next, you can either walk, boat or take the Resort Monorail over to the Contemporary Resort.
I personally enjoy the short walk because it’s peaceful and it gives you a little bit of a different view of Magic Kingdom.
What do you get to eat?
Chef Mickey’s offers all of the typical breakfast fare that you can enjoy and that your children will enjoy. They have eggs bacon sausage waffles pancakes and more. My personal favorite is the banana bread French toast. It is absolutely amazing
When my family went last time Chef Mickey’s was still doing family style because of covid limitations. However, now, it’s back to the buffet style.
Here are a couple more views of the buffet!
What about characters?
However, I have to admit that the best thing about Chef Mickey’s is the interaction with the characters! I know I missed the character interaction when things changed because of COVID. Now, I’m very excited that character interaction is back!
The Characters are in full swing now and you can meet all of your favorites!
Each character visits your table, interacts with everyone, and you can even get pictures with them!
Characters are able to sign autographs!
Plus, they can get up and personal with the little ones!
But is it worth the cost?
Keep in mind, dining is not cheap at Disney World. Character dining is even more expensive.
At the time of this writing, Breakfast prices were:
$51 for adults
$33 for kids ages 3-9
FREE for kids under 3
Dinner prices were:
$62 for adults
$39 for kids ages 3-9
FREE for kids under 3
In my opinion, this little face below shows that the character interaction is worth the cost! With that being said, I’m definitely a fan of the breakfast for the food options and for the cost!
